Negotiations are carried out with the local highway authority to obtain approval in principle to preliminary Means of Access Plans. Feasibility appraisals take into consideration, junction geometry, visibility, base level information plus Traffic & Speed Surveys.
Detailed Access Appraisals investigate the full junction design including setting out, detailed level design and construction.
Designs can be submitted to the local highway authority for technical approval, with application for vehicle crossover or Section 278 agreements completed as appropriate.
